"For a moment, I was fine. At least, I thought I was fine. I felt okay, took a deep breath, and completely fell apart. Panic, anger, and self-pity coursed through my veins, and I started bawling.
But then, I had an idea. I decided to write about my broken neck experience and share any thoughts or tips I discovered along the way."
A Broken Neck Recovery Story
Snapped is an insightful story about self-examination and the struggle to overcome emotional and physical obstacles while healing a broken neck.
No matter how hard you try, you’re never fully prepared for an accident. When I broke my neck, I expected the months of limitations and obstacles that wearing a neck brace brings. However, I was not prepared for all the emotional struggles.
Once the accident is over, there’s a moment where you focus on your body and what you need to do to heal. Then, the thought hits you that you could have died. All organization and composure, all thoughts of the future vanish and you’re left wondering why you’re still here, why you lived when so many others have died.
This book is a guide through a working mother’s experience healing a broken neck. All the discoveries, all the emotions are shared so others with broken necks will have a quick source of information—and a friend who has been through this process, too.
About the Author
This is what I looked like right after I came home from the hospital post-break. I had busted open a spot over my eye, ripped open my knee, dented my thigh, and somehow cheated death.
See that look on my face? That's me when I'm terrified and grateful simultaneously and in equal parts.
After my accident, I couldn't find anything online about how to live with a broken neck. I knew it had been done, but no one talked about it. That's why I decided to write this book.
You are not alone. I have been where you are, healed nicely, and written this book to help you survive your broken neck healing experience.
