Foot Injury: Weekend Workout! 2-25-17

This week’s workout has to do with foot injury and how you could work(out) around it. A very active friend of mine broke his foot, and it made me think of all the active folks out there in a boot. Plantar fasciitis, broken bones, and¬†fractures all happen to active people. The key to recovery is following your doctor’s orders. The key to staying sane is figuring out appropriate modifications so that you can play by the rules and still get a workout.

Weekend Workout! is a 20-30 minute Pilates and yoga inspired workout. Of course, we are only scratching the surface of things you could do while in your boot. While there are many other exercises you can do, there are some things to avoid, too.

Avoid:

  • leg lifts or leg circles–That weight isn’t balanced and you don’t want a psoas injury.
  • being on your feet
  • being in any position where you would not be following your doctor’s orders
